Walking and Running

Walking and Running

The great expanse of Windsor Great Park makes it an ideal location to explore on foot. Motor vehicles and motor cycles are restricted, so apart from the occasional estate vehicle you will often enjoy generally vehicle-free roads and tracks.

The park is open to walkers from 7am until dusk. Please keep to the paths and tracks. Some areas are clearly signed 'private' and are not accessible.

Walking your dog

Windsor Great Park offers thousands of acres of open parkland for dog walking, and welcomes many dog owners throughout the year.

The link below provides essential guidance for dog walkers visiting the Park and also information on some restrictions on dog walking.

During your visit, we request, for both your safety and the safety of the other car park users, that your dog is kept on its lead at all times whilst you are in the car parks.

Running

The extensive network of paths and tracks is ideal for the more energetic. A run around Virginia Water lake is 4.5 miles - or 6 miles if you start and finish at The Savill Garden.
