Group rates for 2012 have been held at 2011 prices. Nick Day, The Crown Estate’s Operations Manager, says: “Here at The Savill Garden, in Windsor Great Park, we welcome groups throughout the year and we always aim to make the visit a special and unique occasion. 2012 provides exciting offers for groups including the opportunity to visit the highly acclaimed Rose Garden, which was officially opened by Her Majesty The Queen in June 2010, and to enjoy royal roses including the ‘Royal William’ and the ‘Catherine’ roses planted in 2011 to celebrate the marriage of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.” “In 2012, to help celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, we are delighted to offer groups the opportunity to have their very own ‘Royal Garden Party’ with a Diamond Jubilee Afternoon Tea at The Savill Garden. Guests will be able to enjoy wandering through the Gardens at their own pace with their complimentary guide book, ‘Gardens in a Royal Landscape’. Guests will then return to The Lawns where they will have their own private tea tent, with tables set with crisp linen cloths and fresh flowers, on which they will enjoy a magnificent full afternoon tea served on fine bone china. They will also be joined by one of The Savill Garden team and will be able to gain top gardening tips. The price is £22.50 per person which includes admission to The Savill Garden and the package is available in the afternoons from April to September. (The minimum group size is 30 and the maximum is 60).” The Savill Garden is one of England’s finest woodland and ornamental gardens with 35 acres of trees, shrubbery, ponds and streams, lawns, meadows and formal beds which are home to some of the world’s most decorative plants. It is a garden of beauty and colour where visitors journey through interconnecting gardens, each one coming into its own in different seasons. The Savill Building offers all the facilities that a group needs, including an extensive gift shop, the Gallery Café and self service restaurant managed by Leith’s. We also have events through the year such as outdoor theatre, sculpture exhibition and a Christmas Fair which are great for groups. The iconic Savill Building, gateway to The Savill Garden, is home to the superb gift shop which provides a wide range of tempting giftware, stationery and books, including Windsor Great Park gifts; together with an outdoor plant area which stocks plants from the Royal Gardens. The gallery showcases British-based artists with works referring to the natural beauty of the British countryside and our place within it. All works in the gallery are for sale with pieces to suit a range of budgets. The self service restaurant, managed by Leith’s, has an exciting group catering menu. Take a break and enjoy either a two course lunch menu or a classic cream tea, in one of three dedicated dining areas. Alternatively, you can pre-purchase catering vouchers (to be used Monday to Friday inclusive). A stunning highlight of The Savill Garden for groups to enjoy from June to September is the contemporary Rose Garden. It provides an intense sensory experience with roses specially chosen for their scent, strong colours and repeat flowering. As the deep aroma of the roses naturally rises, visitors can enjoy the perfume at its best, together with wonderful garden views, from a walk way which rises into the centre of the Rose Garden. There are also joint packages to Windsor Castle and the Royal Garden and River Boat Cruise along the historic River Thames. The combined visit with The Royal Collection is always popular with the opportunity to visit Windsor Castle, one of the official residences of Her Majesty The Queen, or Frogmore House, a royal retreat, together with The Savill Garden. (Frogmore House is open at certain times of the year). For further enquiries call The Royal Collection on 0207 766 7321. Groups can book The Royal Garden and River Boat Cruise which is a combined visit to The Savill Garden and a 2 hour boat trip along the River Thames with French Brothers taking in the historic sites of Windsor Castle and Runnymede. The cost is either £24.95 per head which includes a cold lunch and afternoon tea; or £27.95 for a hot lunch and afternoon tea.
