New for 2010 are a series of exciting offers for groups to make a visit even more interesting and better value. Also new to enjoy will be the contemporary Rose Garden which will open in mid-June 2010. The new special interest seasonal tours will run throughout the year, and will include ‘The Head Gardener’s Insight Tour’, an exclusive tour with Harvey Stephens, Head of The Savill Garden; a ‘Royal Tour’ giving highlights of the royal connections within The Savill Garden; ‘A Toast to the new Rose Garden Tour’, an afternoon tour which culminates with an informal chat over a glass of chilled Rosé wine; and the ‘Winter Welly Walk’ which takes a look at the Garden over the cooler months and includes a winter warmer menu in the restaurant. From January 2010, groups can book a fantastic combined visit to The Savill Garden and a 2½ hour boat trip along the River Thames with French Brothers taking in the historic sites of Windsor Castle and Runnymede. It will provide an intense sensory experience with roses especially chosen for their scent, strong colours and repeat flowering. As the deep aroma of the roses naturally rises, visitors will be able to enjoy the perfume at its best, together with wonderful garden views, from a walk way which will appear to ‘float’ above the Rose Garden. Look out for special events including Spring Gardens Week 17-21 May, when The Royal Landscape celebrates its famous spring flower displays and the Celebration of the Rose 21-25 June, when there will be lots of rose related activities to enjoy, including floristry demonstrations from leading NAFAS National Demonstrators, ‘Land Art’ throughout The Savill Garden and a specially themed menu in the Restaurant The iconic Savill Building, the gateway to The Savill Garden, is home to a superb gift shop, art gallery and popular restaurant. The shop provides a wide range of tempting giftware, stationary and books, together with an outdoor plant centre. The gallery showcases British-based artists with works referring to the natural beauty of the British countryside and our place within it. All works in the gallery are for sale with pieces to suit a range of budgets. Managed by Leiths, the restaurant is offering an exciting new group catering menu from 1 March. Take a break and enjoy either a two course lunch menu and/or a classic cream tea, with served or self service in one of three dedicated dining areas. Prices start from £10.50 per person for lunch and £3.95 per person for afternoon tea. Alternatively, you can pre-order picnic boxes or pre-purchase catering vouchers.
