The Savill Garden Specialist Plant Fair showcases British growers with unusual and rare varieties of plants 10am-5pm Saturday 7 May 2011

Prestigious specialist nurseries, many of whom are exhibitors at Chelsea and Hampton Court, will be offering a wide range of rare and unusual plants for sale at a Plant Fair to be held at The Savill Garden on Saturday 7 May from 10am to 5pm.

The varieties of plants on sale include delphiniums, culinary herbs, clematis and unusual edible perennials, together with a large selection of herbaceous plants, shrubs from the southern hemisphere and  maples. There will also be hand painted pots and garden sundries.

The nurseries include Green’s Leaves presenting choice shrubs, architectural and coloured foliage plants; Desirable Plants specialising in woodland plants, epimediums and South African bulbs; Elworthy Cottage Plants with hardy geraniums and geums a speciality; Marcus Dancer Plants with a large range of clematis; and Usual & Unusual with a wide selection of the best perennials available. Some of the nurseries are not usually open to the public and the Plant Fair will provide a rare opportunity to ask dedicated specialists about their plants and for advice.

The Plant Fair will be held in The Savill Garden car park and admission to the event is free. Hourly weekend car park charges apply. (There is free parking if a Garden admission ticket is purchased on the day).

The Savill Garden is part of The Royal Landscape within Windsor Great Park, which also includes the Valley Gardens and Virginia Water. It is one of England’s finest woodland and ornamental gardens with over 35 acres of trees, shrubs, ponds and streams, lawns, meadows and formal areas which are home to a unique range of decorative plants.
