Gluten-Free Week at The Savill Garden The 14th May marks the start of Gluten-Free week in the UK. Leith's restaurant, within The Savill Building in The Royal Landscape is supporting this scheme and will be introducing a selection of gluten-free dishes into its weekly menu for this exclusive period, which runs until the 20th May. The week is an initiative set up by Coeliac UK which aims to raise awareness of Coeliac and Dermatitis Herpetiformis. The Crown Estate’s plan to work in conjunction with this awareness programme highlights its commitment to responding to growing specialised nutritional and dietary requirements. The restaurant is situated in the striking new visitor centre for The Savill Garden. The iconic Savill Building was opened in June 2006, and houses both the restaurant and a gift shop offering a wide range of beautiful gifts. Leith's is a large airy restaurant overlooking the beautiful garden, with additional seating available on the terrace area. The exclusive gluten free dishes, which will be available from the 14th to the 20th May, have been hand-picked by the manager of the restaurant Sophie Trebbick, and are sure to tickle the taste buds of anybody sampling them. Sophie comments: "We are very proud be part of this national awareness campaign and hope that our efforts here in the kitchen, will encourage local people to come down to The Savill Building to enjoy some delicious gluten-free food, combined with some glorious sunshine”. The specific dishes have not yet been revealed, but for your chance to sample these exclusive culinary treats, be sure to visit The Savill Building during this week in May.
