![]() Explore the Easter trail around The Royal Landscape of Windsor Great Park18-25 April 2011 The fun family Easter Trail around The Royal Landscape of Windsor Great Park comprises fun clues to solve, and things to look out for, with a chocolate treat at the end for participants. Follow the clues from The Savill Building, around Obelisk Pond, through the rhododendron woods to the giant Totem Pole, and onwards to Virginia Water. There are two trails – one which takes 40 minutes to an hour for families with younger children and the second trail takes around 1 ½ hours to complete. The shorter trail is wheelchair and buggy accessible, although there are one or two slight inclines. The longer trail takes you over slightly less even ground and, whilst still being a relatively easy walk, does include one fairly steep climb, and is not suitable for wheelchairs or buggies. The cost to enter is £2.50 per leaflet (and prize) which can be purchased from The Savill Building. The Trail is available from 10am and the answers need to be returned to The Savill Building by 5.30pm to collect the prize. Now in its fourth year, this trail is becoming a must do for families at Easter time. To coincide with the school holidays, the Trail will now run for a full 8 days for the first time, so no need to wait for the Easter weekend. Visitors to The Royal Landscape in April will also be able to enjoy the spring plant collections and fine floral displays which provide the perfect backdrop for a family day out in the fresh air. The whole area has a fresh spring appearance with the newly emerging leaves on the magnificent range of trees and shrubs. Complete your day with a visit to The Savill Building, and enjoy the popular restaurant managed by Leiths, the superb gift shop, outdoor plant centre and the new Gallery Coffee Shop, where you can enjoy work by local artists and a freshly made cup of coffee and homemade cakes. The new family Ice Cream Parlour will also be open at The Savill Building in time for the Easter weekend.
