Visit The Royal Landscape, Windsor Great ParkThe Royal Landscape’s newly published Group and Travel Trade Guide 2009 invites groups to enjoy the beautiful pleasure grounds of Kings and Queens within Windsor Great Park, combining their royal experience with a visit to either Windsor Castle or the Royal Family’s private retreat at Frogmore House. One of the great royal gardens within Windsor Great Park, The Savill Garden, was designed by Sir Eric Savill in the late 1930s for year-round interest and colour under the watchful eye and royal patronage of King George and Queen Elizabeth. New for spring 2009 will be magnificent spring displays in the refurbished Queen Elizabeth Temperate House. It provides a beautiful and relaxing setting only 5 minutes from The Savill Garden entrance with easy wheelchair access and benches around a tranquil fountain. The Royal Landscape’s Valley Gardens are set in the deep lakeside valleys around Virginia Water Lake, reaching their peak from March to June when groups can enjoy the Azalea display for which the gardens are famous. The world renowned azalea Punch Bowl is spectacular in May. Coaches can be guided through The Royal Landscape from The Savill Garden to the Valley Gardens. In contrast to the formal Savill Garden, groups can also enjoy the Grade I listed landscape around Virginia Water Lake with its 18th century ornamental cascade and the Leptis Magna Ruins from the ancient city of Leptis. In partnership with The Royal Collection, The Royal Landscape also offers groups a special combined visit to The Savill Garden with either Windsor Castle, one of the official residences of Her Majesty the Queen, or Frogmore House, used today by the Royal Family for private entertaining. The award winning Savill Building provides excellent visitor facilities including a gift shop, exhibition area, art gallery and a self service restaurant offering hot and cold food together with traditional cream teas. Coach parking is free and coach drivers receive a £7 refreshment voucher.
